Here’s a nice collection of messenger bags to make, some designs are pretty simple and basic while others are loaded with features. Whether you’re looking for a simple one to run errands with or something zipped and loaded with pockets (great for traveling and sight seeing), this list has you covered. Fancy Ruffles: Features an adjustable strap and a fun & frilly ruffled top flap.

Patternless: This measures 19″ wide and 12 1/2″ deep but can easily be adjusted so consider the measurements as guidelines.

With Adjustable Straps: Two different sizes shown, both feature adjustable shoulder straps and fold-over flaps that are secured with two buttons and fabric loops.
Duck Cloth: Loaded with features such as inner and outer pockets, adjustable straps, inner buckle closure (to secure top flap in place), zipped closure. Basic directions but includes a lot of reference links to guide you. Advanced project.

Large: Finished size measures approximately 15″x11″x3″, is lined and includes a pocket and thick shoulder straps (made from fabric).

From Cargo Pants: Made by repurposing an old pair of cargo pants (grab a pair at the thrift shop if you don’t have a pair to use).
Basic: Features both an inner and outer pocket, this one is easy to adjust the size as you need.
